Santee junior Patricia Sanchez captured back-to-back L.A. City Section titles, with senior teammate Jennifer Perez taking second in the girls Division 2 final at Pierce College. Sanchez, who won the Division 1 championship last season, clocked 18:45.93 on the 2.93-mile course and Perez was runner-up in 19:10.21 for the Falcons, who edged Bravo Medical Magnet by a 48-49 margin for the title.
